A little about me
Hi. My name is Thomas Cochran, and I specialize in visual storytelling through photography, design, and multimedia. My creative approach is rooted in authenticity, communication, and a deep appreciation for the stories behind each project. Whether I’m working with a camera, building a brand, or editing a video, I aim to create visuals that feel both intentional and human.
I’m equally comfortable behind the lens and behind the screen—bringing strong people skills together with technical proficiency in tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere. I graduate in just over a week from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Visual Communications, and I’m excited to begin searching for a future career in art production or creative leadership.
A little bit more about me
When considering my story, I first fell in love with photography and design in middle school, when I took my first visual media class. From the start, I was drawn to the idea that you could tell a story, express emotion, and connect with people—all through imagery. That early spark grew into a deep passion for visual storytelling.
One project that solidified this path for me was my photojournalism essay on TopLine Retrievers. I loved capturing real, unscripted moments of action—but just as much, I valued the experience of interviewing the trainers and learning their story. It showed me that what I love most about this work is the authenticity, the creativity, and the opportunity to connect with others in a meaningful way.
What excites me most today is the human element—whether it’s telling someone’s story through photography or bringing a creative vision to life through design. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping people express who they are or realize an idea they’ve dreamed of.
Looking ahead, I hope to be in a leadership role on a creative team—one where I can support both the work and the people behind it. My goal is to not only serve clients through thoughtful, story-driven design but to lead with empathy and purpose, building a community that creates meaningful work together.
